Finish this year *with* God, not just for God.

Today I want to give you 3 simple questions to pray through as we close out this chapter.

1. Where have I seen God’s faithfulness this year?

It’s so easy to see what didn’t happen:

  • The weight that didn’t come off
  • The dream that still feels fuzzy
  • The habit that didn’t stick

But God has been moving even in the places that still feel unfinished.

Take a moment and ask Him: “Lord, open my eyes to see where You’ve been faithful in 2025.”

Maybe it was a new friendship.
Maybe it was strength to walk through a hard diagnosis.
Maybe it was simply that you’re still here, still standing, still seeking Him.

Write down at least 3 ways you’ve seen His hand this year.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1

2. What have I learned about myself this year?

God uses every season—wilderness, waiting, stretching, and harvesting—to teach us something.

Ask yourself:

  • What did this year reveal about what I value?
  • Where did I see growth in my courage, my boundaries, or my faith?
  • Where did I notice old patterns that God is inviting me to release?

This isn’t about beating yourself up.
It’s about noticing with grace.

You might realize:

“I’m more resilient than I thought.”
“I actually can make changes when I invite God into the process.”
“I still try to do everything alone—and He’s asking me to lean on support.”

Whatever comes up, bring it to Him honestly. He already knows.

3. How do I want to walk with God between now and December 31?

We often act like the year is already over, but we still have precious days left.
And small, Spirit-led choices in these final weeks can shift the atmosphere of your heart.

Ask:

  •  What would it look like to finish this year with intention instead of autopilot?
  • Is there one conversation I need to have?
  • One habit I’d like to start, not on January 1st, but this week?
  • One thing I’m ready to stop carrying alone?

Maybe for you it’s:

  • A 10-minute “walk and talk” with God each day
  • Choosing nourishing food because your body is a temple, not a problem
  • Going to bed earlier so you have energy to pursue your God-given dreams

You don’t have to overhaul your life.
Just ask, “Lord, what is one next faithful step You’re inviting me to take before this year ends?”

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” – Philippians 1:6
